Information For Authors

Authors are requested to comply with the following guidelines for acceptability of their articles.

      Format

  • The article file should be in Microsoft Word format with font style Times New Roman font size 12 (for both titles and text) and 1.5 line spacing.

    Length of the article

  • Articles should be between 10 to 15 pages (3,000-5,000 words) in length inclusive of all text, references and appendices.

   Page size and margins

  • A4, Margins (Left: 1”, Right: 1”, Top: 1”, Bottom: 1”)

   Paragraph spacing

  • The first sentence of a paragraph should not be indented
  • Space between a preceding and succeeding paragraph should be 6 pt.

  Type of articles

  • Conceptual/theoretical and empirical research articles, case studies and book reviews.

  Title of the article

  • Provide a title of not more than twenty words which should be concise and informative

 Details of authors

  • Names of all contributing authors should be included in the article. Correct email addresses should be provided for each and every author. In addition, contributing authors’ affiliations should be added after their names considering where they were at the time the article was completed.

 Abstract

  • Authors must provide a comprehensive abstract in their submission. The abstract should have the following:
  • Purpose and objectives of the research work (compulsory)
  • Research methodology (compulsory)
  • Findings (compulsory)
  • Conclusions
  • Study implications (where applicable)
  • The abstract should have a maximum of 300 words and include keywords that were used to guide the work.

 Headings in the article

  • Contributing authors must ensure that all headings are concise with an apparent distinction between the structure of the headings.
  • EAJCR prefers headings of the main sections to be presented in bold format and following sub-titles be presented in italics, such as:

 Figures and tables

  • Figures and tables should be presented in the current edition of APA format.

 References

  • All citations referred to in the article must appear in the references list and should be in American Psychological Association (APA) format.

 Structure of the research articles

  1. For empirical studies research articles
    • Title
    • Author(s) name(s), affiliated institution(s) and email address(es)
    • Abstract (maximum 300 words) and 3-5 keywords capturing principal coverage of the article
    • Introduction
    • Condensed relevant literature review/ theoretical framework
    • Conceptual framework and hypotheses and/or research objectives
    • Research methodology- detailed
    • Results and discussions
    • Conclusions and recommendations/ policy or managerial implications
    • References (to include all citations in the article)
  1. For conceptual/theoretical research articles
    • Title
    • Author(s) name (s), institution(s) and email address(es)
    • Abstract (maximum 300 words) and 3-5 keywords capturing principal coverage of the article
    • Introduction
    • Coverage of subject matter under clear headings and subheadings
    • Conclusions and recommendations
    • References (to include all citations in the article)
  2. Case studies and book reviews
  •      Provide a logical flow of the subject matter with informative headings and sub-headings.

Articles publication charges

  • Online publication Ksh 8,500 or USD 85
  • Additional Ksh1,500 for every print version of the complete Journal required.

Other preparation guidelines

  • Please ensure that the article submitted for review and publication is not concurrently under consideration elsewhere.
  • Ensure that the article submitted include citation of all original sources and is free of plagiarism.
  • The Journal has put systems in place and every article will be subjected to software for the detection of plagiarism. However, the journal shall expect professional judgment from the editorial board.
